I have a betta, Twilight, in a 5 gallon tank. He was aggressive toward one of my snails so he is by himself now. I have another tank, 2.5 gallon, with now 4 mystery snails. So I don't know which would be the better tank.
The fourth snail is a Petco rescue attempt. I bought him today with the frog because when I checked him out myself, despite the fact everyone else was dead. His body wasn't outside his shell and I could not move his cover. Since I broght him home an hour ago his cover has moved slightly, as if to bring in air but no other movement. The cover was shut tight when I put him in the tank.
I currently have the frog in a small critter carrier with an air hose, food, and a couple of fish ornaments to climb on to reach the top.
I'd prefer to put him with the snails because they don't eat the food that falls to the bottom and he supposedly does. I feed the snail betta pellets, so they eat at the top of the water line.
So should I put him with my betta or my snails?
