Who else names their non-“pet” fish? (I
specifically try to tell schooling fish apart). What are their names and types?

I just give the group a name. EX: If there is 8 fish, you could call them the planets.Masspanic said:Who else names their non-“pet” fish? (I

That reminds me of a danio I had named Blitzkrieg because he would just suddenly zip around from seemingly nowhere when it was feeding time lolFlyfisha said:Yeah since I have had my wife doing all of the brine shrimp routine morning and night she has named this guy “ flash “ because he turns up in a flash for the live food. We have had him in our lives since he was a grain of sand with a tail. Now she’s feeding him morning and night she’s picked the name.

I still protest the decision on Pluto, so i still have to have 9 to be called the Planets.AcornTheBetta said:I just give the group a name. EX: If there is 8 fish, you could call them the planets.

I name creatures that are easy to tell apart. I've had a Betta named Saul Goodman, common goldfish named Scott & Joe, a Tetra of some sort (it was a rescue from horrible conditions & I'd not owned fish in years, so I didn't know what it was) named Tito Salamanca, I had a Mystery snail named Gustavo Fring. When I have creatures that look the same, I call them all one thing. My current shrimp are all named Rick Sanchez. I call their tank The Citadel of Ricks. All of my gold Mystery snails are named Morty. I have a Zebra Nerite named Zebra Morty and a Red Racer Nerite named Houdini. Granted, I'm prone to naming a lady bug in my kitchen.Masspanic said:Who else names their non-“pet” fish? (I

Same! I love that you named all the mystery snails the same thing hahaBettybrown922 said:Granted, I'm prone to naming a lady bug in my kitchen.
This is the best example of giving a group of animals the same name I've ever seen.Bettybrown922 said:When I have creatures that look the same, I call them all one thing. And I forgot to add that I have 2 amano shrimp named Rick C-137 because they were my original shrimp, all other shrimp died off for different reasons and had to be replaced. Clearly, I'm a bit of a Rick and Morty fanV1K said:This is the best example of giving a group of animals the same name I've ever seen.
And as you might have noticed in my post above, half of my animals have Star Trek names, so I'm certainly not the one to judgeBettybrown922 said:Clearly, I'm a bit of a Rick and Morty fan
We call our pregnant livebearers Big Bertha too!Betta'sAnonymous said:I barely rmember the names of my bettas. I would be up a creek without a paddle if i started naming other fish.
Though whenever we have livebearer get pregnant in our house, we ALWAYS call her Big Bertha.
If there is more than one it's always Big Bertha and Big Bertha Jr. LolKribensis27 said:We call our pregnant livebearers Big Bertha too!
