Who Are Our Bully Breeds People?

I am seeing several posts from people with bully breeds.

I have a bully passion myself. We have many pit bulls come into the shelter I work at and volunteer for so I always have at least one in foster. We foster pits, cane corsos, american bulldogs, and any dog that "calls to us" and needs more time to find a forever home.

Attached is a picture of Gremlin. She was highly emaciated when she came into foster with me 13 months ago. She slept with me since I picked her up from a shelter an hour away and the rescue I fostered for gave her to me in November. We bonded very strongly. She has to be touching me at all times when she sleeps at night. You can see from her ears how she got her name.

She loves to make her "nest" before she takes a nap or goes to bed.

Awwwww! She's super cute. I love all the bully breeds, although the dog I have right now isn't one. She came from a rescue that does specialize in larger breeds, and I went there based on a picture of a corso I saw on the web, but when I saw her spotted little face, I knew she was the one.

I'd like to foster, but our girl prefers to be in a one dog household. She would also prefer if there was no cat, but unfortunately the cat came first.

I love them, I fostered one, the most loyal, sweet, and friendly dog...I got attached and it was hard giving him up, but he went to a really good home.

I love the picture of her snuggling in the bed.

Aww. She's really cute! I don't have any bully breeds myself, but I think they are really great dogs!

You know I am a fan! Here are the "bullies" I've had the pleasure of spending time with- Natasha is the little blue sleepyhead, Mia is the brindle shorty, and Austin is the black and white Staffy boy (the child in the photo is not mine, lol). Natasha was my first foster, Mia was my fifth, and Austin is a permanent part of the family. You can see from the photos that they are vicious pitbulls, as the stereotype predicts.

Natasha! Wow! You fostered her a while ago! She was a good girl! So was Mia!

Give Austin a kiss for me, please. I love that boy!

Beautiful dogs! I have a passion for them too. Lakota is a rescue, don't think she full but definitely some pit in there.... She is awesome with our daughter.

From the looks of her and how she is acting with your daughter, she has enough pit to be goofy. LOL!

Love your pics! Looks like those 2 are really good friends.

Such adorable faces and innocent or not so innocent bullies. I'd love a pitt or an english bully (expensive) but have enough boxers and soon a boston (not sure if want brindle or black/white yet). Very pretty pets guys.

Bella is 1/2 Pitbull and 1/2 German Shepherd. My boyfriend got her when she was 6 weeks old. Now she is 18 months old. She is a sweetie pie, but very adept at catching birds and bringing them to us as presents.

My aunt is a vet, I helped her foster a pit bull named peanut butter. That dog was so sweet, with eyes of melted chocolate She was an abused animal, in fact she had kidney failure twice due to injury-related causes:'( She died a week after we took her in the second time.

One of the happiest memories of my life was her fetching pinecones for me behind the clinic, there was never a dog like her

Here are some of my babies, Sadie is the white one she is part ABD and part APBT. Kilo is the brindle and he is all APBT.

Catching some shut-eye

Dressing up Sadie in a shirt from a company I used to work for, she seems very confused by the whole thing!

My old boy Kilo

We found Sadie in the woods about dead but as you can see shes plenty healthy now. My old boy Kilo I got when I was 16 and just this march had to put him down. He was 16 years old. We had a lot of good times together.

Guilty as charged. Lol. I've had two pitty mixes from the shelter in the past and love them. We got biggie when I got back from my last deployment. Cute little English bulldog. I'll never get anything else now.

Great pics!

Matt B-I use my shirts on my bullies at adoption events in the fall and winter. My kids don't seem to handle cold weather well at all. It makes them shiver. The shirts make them look more adoptable, though. LOL!

That video is incredible! Seeing it makes me think our local law enforcement should start using pits instead of shepherds. Pits will do anything to please and they would make excellent K9s.

Mine have always been the same way! I think combo of short hair and no fat is to blame. Although I try not to get in the habit of dressing up any of my pets I can totally see the added bonus of adoptability with the shirt!

Good luck keeping him in the yard.

My pit Kilo used to swim in a river I lived near till he was practically hypothermic! After about half an hour or so I would notice him looking kinda confused and have to make him stop going in.

As far as the shedding, I'm always getting covered with little needle like hairs that get stuck in your clothes, part of having that breed.

Idk, I've owned long haired breeds and at least their hair didn't weave itself into everything, even their pulse hairs

My bulldog is the same way, she just can't commit to taking the plunge!

I wish I had that problem! Mine will take the plunge, but can't swim! A few weeks ago on our vacation, we had to pull him out of the water twice. He can tread water for about three seconds, but then just sinks like a stone. Poor baby.

Yeah, that has been decided to be his next Birthday present before we go back to the lake again. While partially funny and we did joke about it later, boy that was a hard site to handle. I don't know what I would have done if I lost my little Biggie.

yea I bet that was scary at the time!

I remember when a drunk friend of mine went under water for like 2min. I thought he was dead for sure. me and one of my other friends kept diving down to get him but couldnt find him. scariest thing ever, turns out he was joking and hiding under the dock. not very funny... at first anyways.

English bullies are the sweetest dogs. They're calm and perfect company for the couch potato guy. Love them. Just wish I had 1.5K or so to spend I'd get one for me and one for my dad in a heartbeat! Dad loves dogs that're good for companionship like them.

I had to stop watching the video! It was entertaining to a point, but then I was getting so scared for that dog when he was jumping onto and then off of the wire fences. I was so worried he was going to rip his pads off. Yikes.

Great Video! We had one for named Indy for 14 years and he was a great dog - Needless to say, he was a big pitbull, bigger than me and weighing 105 lbs
Very disciplined and extremely smart dog. Wish he was still with us.
In the right hands, with responsible pet owners, they make great pets.
