White tubes like n/w under the rock in the sump

I have these quite a few of the white tubes (hard calcium - I think) on the underside of the live rock piece in the sump. I broke a few of them to see what is inside and they all seem like hollow hard white tube made of a calcium compound? if I break it toward where it is attached I could find some reddish worm like think... it is so small that as soon as I try and pull I end up squashing it...

Also there a thousands of white spots (again seem calcium based) on the rock, glass, skimmer encasing etc.

What are these? they are not feather dusters for sure.

My sump does not have a refugium (refugium is separate) so basically no light at the sump at any time (remains in dark or at ambient light)

Hopefully, this is not something I should be worried about? (See attached pictures)

Nope, nothing to worry about.....

Rule of thumb - if it's in the dark, in the sump - don't look at it I have all sorts of things living in my sump (I don't run a refugium as such) - just let it run.

Truth is - if you try an eradicate everything in a Saltwater setup, you'll likely end up with a non functioning setup. So much of the ecosystem is hidden, and we need to just accept it - the more that grows in the sump - the more mature your setup is.

Sounds like tube worms and the white spots sound like sponges
