I noticed this morning my platy has white "stuff" on his back and the edge of his tail. I've had ich before and this looks different. I didn't notice is yesterday. He's swimming around but didn't eat this morning. I have three fish in the tank. One other is a little lethargic but the third seems totally normal. Neither other fish has white on them. I would assume it's most likely a fungus of some sort. I would treat him and all the fish in the same tank as him with a methylene blue bath (but do it in a different container you don't mind staining blue), and if that doesn't make a difference, you can try a salt bath or heaver anti-fungals.

You should also test your tank parameters and share them here so we can tell you if your water is the root issue.
