White spots in tank water?

devsi

Does anybody know what these white dots in my water are?

I've got two filters (an internal Juwel Rio 180 and a sponge filter), so I doubt it's lack of filtration, but they are everywhere. I clean the tank every week, so I don't know why I have them instead of nice clear water?

Looks like it could be micro bubbles from lots of surface agitation.

Ah, yeah, that would make sense (I have quite a bit of surface agitation).

Excellent, that's perfectly fine then :) so long as it's not an indication of poor water condition that's totally fine. I'd rather my fish were happy/oxygenated over crystal clear!

Thanks :)

I used to have lots in an old tank with a water diffuser outlet. Recently did a little research as have been using protein skimmers on saltwater tanks. Had one leaking so many micro bubbles I was worried.

The tiny bubbles are completely harmless even If they make the water white! Just.. yeah.. they don't look as nice as crystal clear water.
