I have a super red spoted severum that delevoped this white spot behind his eye. I did a water changed yesturday and he was fine and this morning when I went to feed him I noticed it. All the water parameters are perfect. I even tested the tap water just to be sure. I'm hoping someone could help me figure out what's on my little buddy. Thanks

Wow! He is gorgeous!

Can you describe how the patch looks? Fuzzy? Smooth? Something attached to it? Give as much detail as you can please.

From the best that I can tell it looks like a white head on a pimple nothing appears to be coming out of it

Does it look like a clear sack or a white sack? If it is a clear/transparent looking sack, does the inside look creamy or clotty (like cream cheese)?

Then it's most likely a cyst. You can try a quarantine tank using Erythromycin to see if it's a bacterial cyst, which should clear it up if it is. Or you can do direct applications of Potassium Permanganate on the spot using a cotton swab. You can also try using Methylene Blue direct application as well, but it is not as strong as the PP. Another thing you can try on it is Bio-Bandage. That is a thick compound of Methylene Blue, Neomycin, and an inheasive like Polly Grip to keep it from washing off in the water.

The only other thing I can think of is going to the vet for removal.

Otherwise moniters it, and keep your water quality as pristine as possible. I'm pretty sure it's a cyst, since they have the white sack, and tumers normally have a clear sack.
