Hi, new member here! I am fairly new also to Betta fish but my newest guy, Palpatine , has a white spot on his head and I don't know what to do or how to treat it! Can anyone help identifying what it is?

It's either color changing or he bumped his head and lost a couple scales. I can't really see from the pictures. Either way, he will be perfectly fine as long as you keep his water clean!

Is it flat or raised? If it's raised it is likely a fungal growth, if it's flat and you can see the individual scales then that's just his colouring.

It's flat, so I'm hoping he just bumped his head getting acclimated to his new home. He's still eating and moving around a lot!

I agree that he either scraped himself or is changing colors. To me, it looks like there are a couple patches that are turning white, one on his head, and one a little further back. Given that he has white edged fins, and looks similar to other bettas I've seen that are changing colors, I'm leaning towards color change personally.

Either way, isn't anything to worry about since it's flat. Just make sure your water is clean.
