White/opaque "bloom" Forming During Cycle

Hey Everyone,

So I'm 2 weeks into my tank's fishless nitrogen cycle (SeaChem Stability, Prime, and Dr. Tim's Ammonium Chloride) and I've noticed a "bloom" at the bottom of my tank that looks suspicious. Now I've read that most of these white/opaque blooms are typically normal in a new tank, especially if there is driftwood (which I've treated to the best of my ability ahead of time). Since I'm new to this, it still has me a bit concerned because it is on the sand in one area and not on the driftwood. Will this effect my cycle? Should I do anything about it during the cycle? Is this just a normal thing and let it run its course? Thoughts?

Never had anything like this happen with sand.. It looks like a gelatinous layer forming. I don't think it'll hurt anything but personally I'd remove it just to make sure it's not part of the cloudiness and obviously for looks. Turkey baster ftw

I have gotten that on my sand before, never figured out what it was though.

Ive never gotten that on sand, but ive seen it on driftwood and dirted tanks. It should clear up on its own by the time your cycle finishes. If not, I would just remove it with a turkey baster (though it may grow back if you remove it before its run its course)

Okay, well it seems that most of you that have chimed in, have not said anything like "Oh my god, that is _____ and is extremely bad/harmful!" I'm inclined to let it be and see if it resolves on its own like the numerous videos and forum discussions advise. If it is still there in a week or two, and is spreading out of control, I will do a small water change/gravel vacuum and possibly look into safe treatments for this. I wish I knew exactly what it is...
