White Little Worms?!

Hi, my name is Ryan and I am a Freshwater Beginer, here's the skoop of what's up...

OK, my thirty gallon tank is in it's second week of the Nitrogen Cycle, well one day I just happen to take a look at my nice little setup I had made and well... I saw something, at first I thought they were little tiny pieces of debries just floating in the watter, but when I took a better look I noticed that they were tiney white worms. and they were everywere. The thing is I don't want to start over with my tank if they are harmful, is there anything I might be able to do that might spare me from starting over?

Do you have fish in the tank, if not what fish do you plan on putting in the tank?

Most of the little worms in the tanks will be eatten by most fish. It is added protein for them and a nice little fun thing for them to pick off something that is alive. I personally would leave them in there and let the fish in the tank or fish that will be in the tank devour them.

no, no fish wet but I plan on getting some Angel fish, Guppies, some Tetras and maybe a bottom feeder.

 

Ryan what are you using to cycle the tank?
Before you get ready to put fish in the tank a couple of good substrate vacuums will help lower the planeria population.

I would suggest rethinking the stock idea for the 30g.

Guppies and Angelfish have a habit of not getting along. The Angelfish, once in breeding pairs tend to take out smaller fish in the tank, such as guppies and possibly tetras, depending on their size.

 

I am cycling my tank with the "feeding method, and I also "seeded" my filter with the beneficial bacteria.

I was planning on vacuming my tank this weekend also.

how about one Angel fish, some Tetras and a bottom feeder. And we will go from there.

 

a common pleco would outgrow that tank, but a small group of otos (2-3) or a bristlenose pleco along with a small group of corys (2-3) would be a good clean up crew.

 

30 gall u get away with a pair of angels I think
