Hello!

I recently got some new plants for my tank and noticed, a couple of days latewhite spots (growth?) on my betta’s ventral fin. He’s still eating and swimming around. I did a water change last night. Forgot what the levels were when I tested water last night.

A little background, he lives in a 5 gallon tank with live plants, two step filtration and heater is on 75 degrees.

Any idea what this could be? Thanks for your help!

I forgot to mention, I’ve had him for three years. So he’s on the older side.

Looks like a fungal infection to me. If so, methylene blue might be a suitable treatment. The melafix/pimafix will likely be useless. Sorry I don't have a great deal of experience with fungal infection.
