White Gooey Looking Stuff At Bottom Of Freshwater Tank
One last thing, my filter cartridges are FILLED with the white stuff.
And should I keep decor out of tank for right now or add it back in?
Just want to post an update. After a couple days of water changes and unclogging the filter cartridges the water is crystal clear. Thanks for the help on here!
If there is any way you can get some cycled media from a friends filter to add to yours that would help along your tanks cycle immensely.
Unfortunately I don't have a friend in this hobby. Thanks for the advice though.
Whenever I have fed my bottom eaters with shrimp pellets, I have got this same effect. What really amazed me was whilst doing a very aggressive vacuum of the gravel, there was tons of gas coming out. I can only guess that it was nitrogen which raises a red flag!
I had the same problem once with a brand new tank and it all went away after a couple days. I read somewhere its like an algae and its no harm for the fishes.
Did you rinse your substrate (rocks) and any accessories that are not live ?
