White Cotton-like Fin

Hi,

My second attempt to keep neons seemed successful, until I noticed the lone survivor of my last batch of neons developed a huge white, cottony looking fin. No other fish shows signs of the same thing. I just put him in a quaratine tank but am unsurr on how to proceed.

Looks like a fungus to me. You should treat with some sort of medication. I have used Maracyn successfully to treat fungus in the past, but thet seems really difficult to find anymore. So I would just go to the fish store and look for a med that treats fungus.

I have been treating with kanaplex, and I can see the growth is a bit smaller, but it says to not do more than 3 doses. Can I use a different type of antifungal medication if I don't see an improvement in a day or so?

Lymphocystis ?
Nope it's columnaris need to lower the temperature to 75 or less and do a water change. Then continue treatment with Furan 2 or more Kanamycin.

It also seems like his spine is a bit bent, should I continue with kanaplex or go with pimafix?

I would stay with the Kanaplex. Pimafix doesn't do anything.

I found a male platy with a white thingy on its mouth. He is the betta male though, could it be damage or fungus? He is in the same tank that the neon was in
