White clouds going missing

So yesterday we had 5 white clouds. Today we have four. I didn't find anything in the filter. I can't seem to find any remains anywhere in the tank. I am completely at a loss here. Tank is cycled and HAD 5 white clouds, a clown pleco, two mystery snails and 5 cherry shrimp.

This is the second time that whites clouds have mysteriously disappeared from this tank.
Help?

Shrimp are very effecient scavengers so if one was sick or died at some point they would surely eat him. Also, You should fill out your aquarium info as it can help members help you

nobody looked sick or dying yesterday.
Water params are 0-0-0 with a ph of 6.8.
I cannot seem to get nitrates to show. I went through the cycle and got a spike in nitrites, then a spike in nitrates and now everything always sits at zero. I do have several plants and TONS of algea, but still.

Tank is 10 gallons.
Oh and I have massive explosion of those tiny snails. I just put in an assassin to help take care of this issue.

I hope it turns up soon! I know with my tetras, there's always one or two that go missing for a day or two ( I have 9 of them ) and eventually they turn up! I have no idea where they hide so well.........
Hopefully its not what Matt mentioned but it could be a possibility????

I know plants utilize the nitrates including algae but I'm not experienced enough with planted tanks to know if the plants can utilize ALL of the nitrates. Have you been doing a ton of water changes lately or put one of the Nitrate reducing products in your filter? As far as the missing minnows go I can say I once tore my tank apart trying to find a cory and after looking through absolutely everything I found him down between the base of a plastic plant and the foliage literally wedged in there. Point is, they can get into places we don't even think of.

I lost 3 of my 5 adult-sized black phantom tetras for almost a week. Have NO idea where they went... But they are back now.

Edit: And yes, occasionally if I lose a neon tetra or similar sized fish, it is hard to find as the body drains all colour when they die.

I did a water change yesterday, but ever since the cycle finished I have yet to have nitrate show.

I guess cover all the usual suspects: Is your test kit expired? Do you shake/bang the heck out of nitrate bottle #2? other than that bring a sample to lfs and have them check it?

I have another tank mid cycle and I get nitrites and nitrates on it. So the test kit is fine.

Could be a combination of having plants and being overfiltered and understocked but your info tab says nothing so I don't know what kind of filter you have. It may be best to start a new thread for this under aquarium water and see what people come up with.

I'm not to worried about the water. I just want my white clouds back.
Still not back today. My other tank the nitrites are starting to plummet and so is my nitrate, but I have even more plants in it. Plus it only has 11 rcs in there.

I finally updated my profile just for you all.

I one had 2 zebra danios disappear. I found them a week later under my tank in the bucket I keep in my storage area in the stand. They were crispy minnows and danios are related and are good jumpers, perhaps this is what happened.
