While I love the plant pic, #2 is the easiest to read.

I went with #3. The green contrasts very nicely against the blue.

#3, grabbed my eye focus first.

Hmm. How about a combination?

Original post updated with #5. If a mod could edit the poll to reflect the extra choice I'd appreciate it.

I like 5 best.

Where are the fish? Putting a few fish swimming around would make it even better. As it is, I like #3.

Now I like 5.

I didn't want it to look too busy. Besides, I didn't know which fish to use, and if I did, would I use a stylized fish or a real one?

Looks good the way it is, I would vote for #5

So far I'm the only person who likes simplicity enough to vote #1 ;D but #5 is my second choice.

I vote for 2

3! I like the plants but it's too hard to read as a texture for aquatics also. The bubbles are neat but they just draw my eyes all over the place. O.O; 3 draws my focus to the Z, then aquatics second, and oO pretty waves. >.>; My brain works in funny ways.

I like #1, plain and simple and not too busy.

I would go with stylish. You could try adding a few, and see what it looks like. It isn't too important though. The designs would still look good without it.

I really like the ones with plants, however, on a signboard I would have to say simpler is better. I went with #2 as you could have some fun with lighting the bubbles with LEDs and using some fluorescent tubes for the rest and really have a nice attracting sign.

How about something like this?

I like it but I think its too complex to light for a store. Might be great for an eye popping business card thou.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. Some of those designs wouldn't be feasible for a sign, but would do great for a business card or a banner inside the store or something like that.

#1 probably would be the outside sign.

personally as I said I like the option of #2 with some LEDs acting as bubbles at night for a sign.

The new design or number 3 of the original for a card.

I like it, but I may be the only one.

I love that last one. But I'd vote for #1 or #3 if it was out of the others. Is your store going to be in Greensboro I would guess?

I actually like number 1. Clear, clean and easy to read.

Simplicity matters in a logo, and I'll agree with the others that while the plant pics are eye-popping, I find it a bit distracting for a straight logo.

I'd save your great pics for embellishments around your products or on store signs. Remember your logo will need to stay in a corner of other products etc so when scaled down the plants/fish s will likely look to 'busy'.

Still, I do love the combo fish, plants etc for a store sign - it will look great blown up and be a real attention grabber while also appealing to many types of hobbyist.

I went through all this with my own fishy logo a while back, and at the end of the day a simple black and white with clear lettering won the day. I can use it as a button in the corner of business cards, signs, products etc and it takes up little room and is always clear to see.

Looking forward to hearing how this all goes for you. Have a god chat to a business planner, and work out your time and budget commitment, and above all good luck!

I like# 1 as it is simple easy to read.

I also like # 3 .. it is most legible and I like the plants behind the Z. The ones with the bubbles are too much.

Simplicity is your friend when designing logos. Now, none of these is terribly difficult to read (though the bubbles are a bit distracting in two of the pictures), but how would they look scaled down several times for business cards?
Granted, you could go with just the "Z Aquatics" for cards, leaving out the background. If you used the plants for the lettering, you'd probably want to simply have the logo be green on cards.
Just some thoughts.

Of the ones listed, I like # 1 best, but would like the 3rd option if you made the green background a little opaque because as is it makes it hard to see the Z. The one you did for post # 20 is pretty good too.

I think #1 for your logo, and the newest design for banner or sign inside the store would look great.

I went with #2, I liked the cool, elegant look of it, contrasted with the fun of the bubbles, but honestly #5 was a pretty close second.

When you are designing logos and signs (my step-dad owns a sign shop) always go with simplicity I believe #1 is the easiest to read and I am sure that if I showed them to him he would agree... he has been in the business since before there was digital designs lol! Plus I can't tell you how many times he has told me that he wished people just went simple because it stands out and is much more easy on the eye when looking at a sign... Think of business cards... if they had too much information on them they wouldn't really serve their purpose to just provide a card with a business name and contact information it would be too crowded and not seem appealing to your customers
