Which Mollies can breed together?

I was wondering can different species of mollies breed between them? My tank is full of Gold lyretail (2 Big adults + 8 (3months old) 7 of them are from the 2 adults) and I was wondering if I add a dalmation one or a black one will they breed with each other or they are "picky" with their own species?

Nope. They'll all breed.

They will breed no matter what coloration the molly has. Also, I heard lyretails are sterile so that may be a problem with your plans.

Sterile, Not!!!!

HI Jonathan, don't know much about fishes but something I know for a fact is that they are not sterile, in fact my tank is "full" of them. I have a female and a male and out of her first batch survive 4 and from her second 3, right now I have 8, 3 months old, gold lyretail mollies, 1 is from a previous batch. Attach a pic of them along with the others, the ones in square are the adults Mom/Dad, they are so much fun, but also little pigs always eating and on top of each other.
On the other side I'm glad they will breed, as you can see my tank is full of oranges and yellows I am ready for some change, I am thinking of giving away some of this and start adding some other species.

Any female Molly can breed with almost any male Molly. The reason I say almost any male is because male Lyretails are normally sterile and can not breed successfully. The color of a Molly is only a strain not a species so color doesn’t have anything to do with breeding. Solid blacks can breed with Dalmatians which can breed with Silvers which can breed with Oranges.

I have raised them for years and I try to keep my strains pure but now and then I do try to cross differant colors to see what I can come up with.

It was my understanding that male Lyretails have difficulty breeding because of their excessively long gonopodium, which grows like their finnage, not because of sterility?
I'll see if I can root out a solid answer to that question.

Ether way they are unable to reproduce any off spring. They seem to pester the females just like all other males so having them in a tank only increases the stress on a female that isn't going to produce any out come so why have them?

Well, the OPs are reproducing so maybe they didn't get the memo

All will breed together. That's why there are so many variants on the market nowadays, because of crossing colour combinations.
