Which gourami for my 29g... if any?

Hello, everyone. Now that I've made my final decision to keep Major Tom in my 5g, I've got a slot open in the 29g long for a new bright fish. While I could just continue to build up my schools, I originally created this stocking with a betta in mind. Since that didn't work out, I'm considering a gourami.

Current Stocking is:

7 glowlight tetras (will be slowly increasing to 12. I only have a small QT tank now that SOMEONE is in my 5g)
7 peppered cories (will be slowly increasing to 10)
1 nerite
1 ghost shrimp (it is the only survivor of 9 and is going strong. Not trying to get more because I've had little luck with shrimp once they hit the two month mark)
Bladder snails

The tank is heavily planted with wisteria, amazon swords, java fern, various anubias, dwarf hairgrass, dwarf sag, amazon frogbit, and a few marimo moss balls. I have two pieces of cholla and one medium sized cave. I'm considering one of the smaller gouramis, and am trying for one that's not aggressive. I know personalities differ a lot (especially for semi-aggressive labyrinth fish), but, in your experience, what would be the best type of gourami for this tank, if any?

Either 3 (1 male 2 female) pearls or 5 (2 male 3 females) honeys as said by JettsPapa. They are both beautiful fish! Good luck

I really like the look of the honeys, so I'll look into those. Time to research the differences between males and females.

Just make sure it’s not a gold Gourami I got one thinking it would be a nice community fish and it killed almost all of the fish. And the other fish were larger too not small. Like the others said honey and pearls are both good options!

I'll go to my LFS instead of my local chain for those, it seems like. They're really knowledgeable and will hopefully have some in stock.

I also like flame gouramis, but I know they could possibly be more aggressive than then the honeys. Would you advise against the flames?

I would avoid Trichogaster Lalius, the likelihood it will end up ill is just not worth the headache or heartache it will inevitably cause.

Ah that's an even more important reason than the aggression. After my fourth high maintenance/sickly betta in a row, I really just want something easy. Thank you.
