Which Fish Next?

Hello All,

New to the forum. I have a new 29 gallon fish tank (fully cycled). It's been stocked for 3 weeks with fish. This is my first aquarium in 25 years so trying to do my best.

I started off with 3 platy's(2 Painted Platy and 1 Mickey Mouse) and all was great.

I introduced a male guppy. Still Great

1 Cory Cat. he doesn't care about them and they don't care about him. Wonderful.

Orange Tailed Molly. Loves it there. Keeps to himself and doesn't bother anyone.

Then I introduced 2 Longfin Danio's. They drove the others crazy and my Mickey Mouse fish has been hiding since. I returned the Danio's to the store because they were too active and got a male guppy. He fought with my other male guppy but they seem to be ok now and sort of seem to be picking on the other 2 platy's that are not hiding as much. ha

Looking for maybe 2 more fish . Ones that will work with what I have and keep the peace. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Add 5 more Corydoras, and 2 more Guppies to spread out the aggression.

Thanks. Can I ask why so many Cory's? I am new to this so what can that many Cory's add to a fairly new aquarium ? Thanks again!

The prefer to be in groups. If you don't keep them in at least groups of six they will become stressed which will ultimately shorten their lifespan. May I ask what you are feeding your cory? They are awesome little fish.

Also make sure you get the same type of cory. They aren't like mollys that come in different colors, each type of cory is actually its own species and has its own temp requirement.

I'm just feeding the tank bloodworms. I don't know much about Cory's and now wonder if they require something different? My Cory just seems to sit at the bottom of the tank. He/She moves like a few times a day but that's it.

I would also feed shrimp wafers, sinking wafers, etc. And up the albino cory numbers to 8. Are you interested in any schooling fish?

He's probably scared and/or stressed since he doesn't have any other cories. That's not normal behavior. They usually constantly forage. Get him some friends and you'll notice an amazing difference in behavior. As far as food, HikarI sinking wafers are a hit with cories. Petco sells them as does Amazon. Also Petsmart sells Marineland shrimp wafers which I found sank much better than shrimp pellets.
