I will soon be getting a 120 gal (48x24x24) and am planning the stock. Out of these 2 options which do you think would be better?

Biotope 1: Glass Catfish (kryptopterus vitreolus)
    Harlequin Rasbora
    Porkchop Rasbora (trigonostigma espei)
    Eyespot Rasbora (brevibora dorsiocellata)
    Panther Loach (lepidocephalichthys guntea)

    Biotope 2: Celestial Pearl Danio
    Rosy Loach
    Spotted Danio (Danio nigrofasciatus)
    Fireline Danio (Devario sondhii)

These would all be in large numbers. If you have a different suggestion for stocking feel free to share! Thanks

    Cool ideas!

What's the length of this tank?

I personally would go for option 2. I like danios

It is 4 ft by 2 ft. I will put the dimensions in the original post

In a 4 ft tank, I would only go with two schools of mid/top dwelling fish, not three or four like you have listed, personally.

Yeah now that I think of it, you are right. So when I decide which biotope to go with, I will pick out the 2 specific mid/top dwellers that I want.

But the fish you have chosen should make choosing a beautiful tank stocking easy!

I think a mass swarm of CPDs would be insanely cool. Voting option 2!

Great idea! Just like in their natural habitat, you see swarms of them!

You would definitely be able to do that.

Might it be possible to squeeze a badis badis pair into the mix?
