Where to put polishing pads in the filter?

I have a canister filter and I am getting a mini ‘booster filter’ which is like a pre-filter that will just hold the foam... the main canister will be full of biohome ultimate.

With this set up where should I put filter polishing pads to ensure crystal clear water? Would I put them in the booster and if so, bottom or top?

put them in the booster at the last stage so if the water is travelling from the bottom up put it at the top before the water exits, I use the same and only biohome ultimate in my other and apart from checking it every few months I don't touch it

Thank you! That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure! I am hoping for the same, my big canister is difficult to get to so will hopefully stop me worrying about having to keep it clean if I only have the sponges in the booster!

 

What canister are you using

 

The all pond solutions 2000 with uv light (it’s the same as the sunsun if you’re in the USA)

 

I'm in Bedford and use their booster on my 6 fluvals but you've got a matching pair from all pond solutions

 

I put them after the sponges, before the biomedia.

Think they are great value for money, especially as they are just on my 20 gallon so more than sufficient! Hoping to upgrade to a bigger tank soon
