Where To Put A Tank

Sorty if this isn’t the right section but I have a question!

My tank recently leaked and now I’m in a mess trying to replace it and get all new parts etc. but I wanted to know if I redid the tank would placing in on a bedroom dresser / bureau be okay? I don’t know if the weight of a 10 gallon tank would be too much or does it really need to go on a stand?

a 10 gallon tank is only about 110 pounds including the tank, not really that heavy if it's a good dresser. I have a 38 on a dresser from about 30 years ago and it works fine, so just as long as it isn't an IKEA dresser that's ok.

Also, put it in an area where there isn't too much light as that will promote algae growth.

No this dresser isn’t from ikea and isn’t near a window haha. When I was younger I used to have tons of tanks, 20, 29, two 55s but now I don’t have the room for them. I’m not even sure if I ca fit a 10 gallon or just stick with my original size of 5.5 but it’s so small and even though I just have a betta I want to get some tank mates for him. He’s so docile so I think he would be okay with them.
