Does anyone know of any good reputable online sellers of "Slate Rock or Rock Slate" for aquarium aquascaping? And if i go to home depot or lowes..what type of slate rock will I be looking for?
You can get it at Home Depot or Lowe’s as long as it’s not polished.
would there be a difference in what I see online and in person?

actually I'm looking reputable online sellers.i honestly don't have the time to walk around rivers and lakes looking for rocks as much id like toYou could just go out and find some . Plenty in New York. Ok first you’ll have to move some snow . But if you look around creaks and streams you will find what your looking for . Also the north shore of Long Island has plenty of rocks
Shipping on rocks is going to be high also.actually I'm looking reputable online sellers.i honestly don't have the time to walk around rivers and lakes looking for rocks as much id like to
ok got it so maybe ordering from online should like a last option type deal then...I try my best to not order online, hard to keep local stores around to buy stuff in person that way. But today, i went to one of our LFSs and was rather struck by their selection of different kinds of slate and dragon stone.

Maybe not last option, but if you have local stores i feel it is kind of owed to the community and yourself to at least check out what they got. There is something to be said for buying rocls and driftwood when you can physically hold and inspect them instead of purchasing sight unseen.ok got it so maybe ordering from online should like a last option type deal then...
I understand
