I've looked at Petco and Petsmart. They have none at all. Today I went to my mom and pop LFS and they had quite a few angels. They looked to be in good health. They got their fish shipment in Tues so they may have been picked over already. All they had were the white ones and the black/white marble ones. I really like the Koi variety. Or the black striped variety (sorry don't know all the technical names). Maybe these are harder to find?
Where did you get your more exotic looking angels?

A breeder 30 minutes from me who specialises in african cichlids and angelfish. But I have lucked out on finding some good looking ones at Pet Supermarket...

My local fish store has angels. They stock veil tails the black striped ones which gets extremely long fins. And the koi get more colors but have slightly shorter fins

I love the koi ones, but be aware, from what I've read, that as they grow their color patches do not "grow with them", so they will appear to be less colorful as time goes on. Again its something I've read in passing.

There are several online places to buy Angelfish...You can check Aquabid, Angel Plus and you can always google it too.

Aquabid is nice and varied- I check out the new posts for guppies, betta, and angels every few days, just to see what new varieties were put up and their cost.

Pretty much the only slight downside about ordering online is the shipping cost. But it's well worth it, if it's a rare coloration. Reliability of the sellers can be determined through their reviews and how many products they've sold.

I know breeders overseas that I buy from. They have some of the best stock in the world and I use them almost exclusively lol.

Both of my LFS have them. I got two marble ones from my favorite LFS. He usually has 3-5 variations and sizes from tiny to large. He will tell you that they are quite popular.
