- and buy 29 - 39 gallon long tanks? I am guessing 30 and 40 gallon are not the correct description? Nomenclature? Seems they are not very popular as I have been looking for them with little success.

Second question: Do they make stands for long aquariums?

Third: what about long tank tops/lids? Looks this may be very hard to find?
I want LED, but a fluorescent
fixture is easy to convert to LED.

Thanks in Advance
John

Try finding it online such as Craigslist. If not, you can build one.

Thanks. Build one? I would never attempt that. To much water to take that type of risk.

So I guess we agree long tanks are not easy to buy or find?
That I must buy one used or have one made?

I have my heart set on long. So I will continue to look and hope I find one.

I think your best place will be online second hand auction sites etc. I have a 30gal long which I luckily was donated by a family member but they do seem more difficult to buy. Most manufacturers tend to build long tanks more towards the 200 Litre + sort of of size. Nothing as small as the 30gal 120 Litre sort of sizes except for in the tall shape

Find an LFS that sells Aqueon tanks and see if they'll order you 33 long, 40 long, those use same lids/stands as 55 gallon standard. All same footprint, just differences in height.

You can also find retailers on Aqueon's site.

When you say "long", do you mean conventional "long", like a "20 long", or are you talking something more extreme? Tanks in the U.S. seem to be mostly in 6" increments up to 3 feet, then go to 12" increments. A 20 long is 30". A 29 gallon is the same length but 6" higher. A standard 30 gallon is 36" long. Aqueon allegedly makes a 33 long that's 48" long. Then there's a 40 long that's also 48" long and a bit taller than the 33 long.

As to availability, I would think any LFS that sells Aqueon tanks would be able to order any Aqueon tank for you.

ADA makes some tanks that have non-conventional dimensions but they're extremely expensive and not widely available in the U.S. The only place I've found that sells them is on the west coast and shipping to anywhere outside California on anything but the rather small tanks is more than most people would consider spending on the tank let alone just the shipping.
