Do any of you know where can I possibly find a 300 gal aquarium at the lowest possible price. Prefferably at manufacture cost.

This weekend I received a great offer on my 100 gal acrylic semI cube setup that i'm considering to parts way with it. I'll be keeping everything and placing it in my other 125 gal long setup that I currently have running as Saltwater as well.

My thoughts is once I get rid of this 100 gal I want to pick up a 300 gal glass tank and I'll build a complete stand once again for it. Then I'll go ahead and sell my custom 125 gal that I completely built last year that way I am only running 1 large reef tank.

lol have been checking craigslist but its not a common size for it to pop up on there specially when you only want the tank by itself. I save myself a lot more money doing everything myself. I'm a big DIY guy in building stands and canopies or in wall setups. A full setup on craigslist can run you a good penny specially by someone not needing to get rid of it fast.

Also I don't feel like resealing a used tank if the silicone looks pretty old like I have done on some. Unless its a killer deal then its all good lol.

if I was still living out in CalI I would find one fast but where i'm currently staying that is not the same case lol.

Have you ruled out building the tank as well as the stand?

That's cool I wish I would know how to build stuff!

Yea your right, it does depend where you live. Here in Los Angeles you can easily find a 300 gallon tank for 400-600 dollars max. Although sometimes you just have to get lucky.

What about contacting your local reef shop? They may be able to get a good deal on tanks and they sometimes give the customer a good deal too with the thought that you'd be buying livestock and equipment too. If you don't have a tank you can't buy all the other stuff they sell. Worth a try at least.

Hey Mike,

I was holding my local reef shop as a last resort. I'm trying to eliminate the middle man that way I can try to get the tank as close to cost as possible without paying extra couple hundred to a shop. Another LFS is pretty decent with their prices. They quoted me 500 for a new 125 gal.

My current 125 gal I build everything on my own. I put the glass panels together, new trims and build my stand and canopy. for a 300 gal since its much larger and will hold much more weight than a 125 gal I kinda would rather have a tank put together proffesionally that way I can have a piece of mind that it won't leak for any odd reason. I could deff use extra silicone that way I know its super strong but will see. I'm always down, but, would deff need extra skilled hands as this will be a heavy job to do the glass.

So lets see if I could find anyone with direct contact to manufacturers and I could go from their.

I'm thinking of taking a cruise to all my reef shops and get quotes on a 300 gal. Lets see who can give me a good deal on one.
