Nice! I love vail! Just got a free Epic Pass recently and I plan on going there a lot this winter

I'm from Greenwood Village, Colorado, so for non-Coloradans that's near Denver

Nice! I'm familiar. I've been here for 13 years now. Come by the White Bison restaurant on your next visit... I manage there! It's right along the walk from the parking garage to the gondola in the village. I can comp you some free drinks or lunch if you come by when I'm working (which is almost everyday). Looking forward to the skI season!

Some great views around there! I do some mountain biking in Fruita near there a few times a year. I love driving out of the mountains through the mesa into the wide open views and into the Utah desert. I've had many many camp trips out that way around Colorado National Monument and around Moab in Utah.

It's seriously such a beautiful place to live. I was born in Glenwood but have lived in GJ all my life and I wouldn't move even if I had the chance. Grew up camping on the Mesa and hiking the monument. Also love the bookcliffs wild horses. So neat! Vail is gorgeous too. You're brave living there in the winter!!

I love winters, wouldn't be able to live here if I didn't. It's nice to head to the Western slope to go warm up in not too far away from here. Vail and GJ are two completely different worlds geologically even though they're so close. So many cool places around Colorado and the Western U.S. in general.

I'd love to move to the mountains. Evergreen isn't technically IN the mountains, but it fits everything I'm looking for. My family wants to live in HawaiI or Florida. I wouldn't last very long there

Northern New Mexico or somewhere around where Thor landed when he was banished from Asgard, where the sun shines most of the year and the state is too proud of its favorite crop: Red and Green Chile. Yes it really is spelled like that here, chile not ‘chili.’ We don’t want ours confused with Texas chilI or any other state’s because it’s not the same lol.

That’s how you know it’s Fall, when you can smell green chile roasting around town. Mmmm.

I’ve heard the Colorado crop rivals ours. Lol we really are obsessed over here with chile. It’s always amusing to me how shocked newcomers from outside the state are to witness how much folks here will put green chile on absolutely everything from burgers to Fettuccine Alfredo.

haha, there's definitely a prevalent green chile scene here too. I don't know if it's the extent of New Mexico but many restaurants have an option to add green chile to just about anything.

I took a trip to colorado with a now ex girlfriend 16 years ago and vowed I would someday live there because I was so taken back by the mountains. I fell in love instantly. I moved to this skI town expecting I would only be able to survive the insane high prices for a skI season. I got lucky in finding a great place to live a 5 minute walk from the gondola/base of the skI mountain, and got lucky in getting a job that pays enough to afford to live here. Housing wasn't terrible when I first moved here. Now anyone moving here will be paying 1,000 a month or more for ONE BEDROOM in a shared house. Anywhere in the mountains that's near civilization and jobs has become so expensive not many people are able to live in them anymore. (here in colorado at least)....I'd imagine montana and idaho mountain living isn't quite as expensive.

We’re very snobby about it here, but I’m glad to know there’s at least one more state I can go and still find good chile to cook into my homemade fettuccine. LOL.

I really enjoy visiting Colorado on vacations. It’s where half of my family is originally from.

I really, really miss authentic New Mexican food when I travel. The state question is ‘red or green?’ and I can’t seem to shut up about it given my own personal obsession with it so I’m gonna go now lol before I hijack this sweet thread.

That's my problem. As much as I love the mountains we couldn't afford Vail. My hubby is a painter, so don't think he'd be in for much work in the winter there

lol!! Here the obsession is green Chile for sure. Especially with eggs :yuck: haha! My husband's dad is straight Spanish and native American and his family is all in NM. So I get treated with homemade red chili, green chili, and they sometimes send me my fave fresh ground jalapeno

I haven't been able to locate a decent fish-specializing store shorter than a 2 hour drive away.

Want a certain location, School right now xD. Lol, born and raised in Edmonton Alberta up here in Canada. Very lucky to be close to 2 citys and small towns. I think I counted 23 fish stores plus pet valus and pet planets. Ive been to every single one... All the petlands, petsmarts, Big als, pet valus, other no name pet stores such as the mall petstore, Oasis FIsh & reptile, Mr pets, Homes alives pets. We have about 15 petsmarts and petlands in my area. Perfect place to live .
