When To Add More Kuhli Loaches

Hey fish friends! Just trying to hear your thoughts on when it should be safe to add more KuhlI loaches to my 29 gallon without disrupting my cycle.

I picked up 3 KuhlI loaches from The Wet Spot in Portland OR 5 days ago and they are awesome! I'm planning to up their numbers to at least 8 as soon as I can so that they feel more comfortable.

I know the rules of thumb is to wait a week or two between stockings but I heard that Kuhlis have a smaller bio load and I am curious if that means I can stock them a little bit sooner than waiting a full two weeks. I'm patient, so if I need to wait then that is just fine. Also should note that I don't want to add a bottle of TSS in order to skip a week of waiting.

Thanks!

It would be safer to wait but to be honest I don't think adding 3 more kuhlis would mess up your cycle if you were to add them today.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. If I have time tomorrow I'll think about stopping and grabbing a couple more because I really don't want these little guys to be stressed out. I'll be sure to monitor my water parameters very closely.

If theyre like 2 inch babies, adding them all at once into a 29 gallon shouldnt be an issue.

Yeah, put them all in, it won't be a problem when theyre that small.
