When should I fast my betta?

I feed my betta fish one pellet once in the morning and once in the evening. I also occasionally give him some snacks like blood worms, daphnia, or mysis from dial-a-treat. I make sure I don’t feed him much of the treats. Anyway, I know I still have to fast him. How long should I fast him for? One or two days? He gets mad when I don’t feed him lol.

You don't necessarily have to fast a betta fish unless you notice bloat from over feeding. I do fast mine one day a week just to clean out there systems, but again not a need.

I feed my betta 5 days a week (Mon-Fri) and fast on Sat & Sun . I believe fasting is necessary as bettas get bloated very very very easily

Above is very true with his likely they are to get boat, however I only feed my 9 bettas 1 pellet once a day soaked in tank water and garlic juice. I haven't had issues with bloat. However I do fast one day a week.

Thank you for the answers! I think I’ll fast him for one day each week because he used to get a little bloated and I don’t want that to happen again.
