When Do You Replace Tanks?

So I am staring at my tank and I have almost had it a year and I am wondering how long to fish tanks last? Do you just buy a new tank after 2-3 years and move it all over? (This is probably an extremely stupid question but I have never heard anyone talk about this, usually peoples fish die and they just get rid of the tank, so far I haven't lost any fish and I am hoping they live there entire life spans) I know tanks don't last forever so the question is how long and when should I consider replacing it? Sorry for this stupid question.

Only when you get a bigger one

I believe it's advised 10years at the earliest and then it needs to be resealed but as long as the seals look fine and nothing is broken you don't need to replace anything.

I have this irrational fear the tank will break apart one day, stupid I know, lol.

That's the only bad thing with tanks, they might break one day and leak everywhere. The likelihood of it actually breaking is not as common as you think however. Just watch the silicone on the corners and if it looks bad than Id look into resealing it or buying a new one

I've had my 50 gallon for over 25 years. I used it for about 15 years and then it sat empty for about five years. I got it out about six years ago and resealed it and have been using it with no problems.
