I've just wondered about this!
I've seen many creative profile pictures, and I've wondered what, or how'd they take it.

I'll tag some people that I was most curious about.

Simple, its just my new betta, and a picture of him looking at the glass.
I caught the photo while he was finally still.

I wish I could say I captured my turtle picture... but I can't. I saw a green sea turtle on my very first open water dive and completely fell in love with them. A printed and framed version of this picture was a gift from my mom.

Mine is my GBR Melvin (and a photobombing glowlight tetra). He makes me happy when I see him, so there he is.

I'm going to be totally honest, Matt, I've thought the whole time your avatar was a panda corydoras.

He is pretty bland for a GBR, I can kinda see it.

Honestly thought he was a juvie Bolivian ram when I bought him lol.

Hes lucky to have you as an owner!

Also, on the photobombing topics, like Matt's picture with his silly tetra.
My mom took this photo while visiting the my LFS.

If you look closely you will see a little ram photobombing.

Here's my picture.

Thanks!

I had an outbreak of something which killed about 3/4 of my fry but I've just figured out the antidote, and treated the remaining 1/4 with success! From now on I should be able to keep almost all of my babies to a healthy age

I found this pic years ago and thought it was funny so I put it on Gravatar. I haven't used Gravatar in years and it just popped up here when I signed up.

Yes, I'm a huge Star Wars fan

Mine is an invasive apple snail's shell that I am holding. I found it in a local ditch. The background is a stool that I no longer have.

bit2 (640x508).jpg I like my killies, even if they aren't popular fish. My picture is an Aphyosemion biteniatum from Ijebu Ode, outside of Lagos, Nigeria. I've kept this peaceful little species for going on to 8 years now. They live, breed and grow up in the same tank, a 20 gallon.
When friends or club members want them, I can always net out a pair or two. I keep a steady population of about 20 adults in their jungle planted tank.
This little guy was feeling pretty energetic, and decided to show off to the longer finned alpha when I was right there trying to get pictures. I like the way his fins and colours show clearly, and decided I'd show him off. Moments after the shot, the big guy (1.5 inches) put on an even better show, but those photos were out of focus.

I have unpacked this species when it arrived direct from Nigeria, and on wild specimens, the fins and colours are exactly the same as this young guy in the photo.

I'm a Marvel nerd, so mine is hulk looking grumpy If you can't read the text, it says, "the look you give when someone taps on your fish tank glass." I thought it was relatable!
