Whats Wrong With My Val

So i got some valisineria a few month back and yeaterday i noticed one of them isnt doing to well. Compared to the normal looking one it seems it's "root stalk" has rotted away and all that a left are the tiny roots holding it in place. Is there a way to being it back or is it already dead
Left is the healthy one right is the unhealthy

Maybe try burying them a bit deeper in the substrate. That's why it looks the condition it's in my friend. And get some root tabs too! : ) Then you should be good. : )

In the process of making some diy root tabs but why is one surviving and one not is my next question their in the same conditions about an inch from eachother

Did you pull those up from the substrate to show us the roots? Or did you plant them that way is my question...

My sand wasn't deep enough to plant them all the way so thats how i planted them. It wasn't so sever at first. I had built up a hill around them but my pleco flattened it out over time they seemed to be growing so I left them alone not wanting to disturb them

Yeah, plant 'em deeper otherwise, they're gonna die. : (
