No males and her belly isn't getting any bigger. What is dropsy?

Yea I noticed a few days ago she looked like bent in the front and sad. Today is the first day I saw the white spot so it came today or yesterday.

The protrusion looks like a could be a prolapse, which in turn could be preventing the fish from pooing thus causing the bloating. Sadly, I don't know if this is curable or what you can try to dI to cure it.

Might sound crazy but you could try massaging the fish between your thumb and forefinger. Kinda like rolling a booger around with only the lightest of pressure. I'm just piggybacking on what Hef said. I don't know if fish get twisted up like dogs can. Hope the fish gets better.

Not dropsy. If the spine wasn’t curved before, I’d look up Fish tuberculosis. It’s more common than people realize, and not to scare you, but it’s contagious to humans.

Now before you freak out, it’s not actually tuberculosis, but it is a curable (and still nasty) infection in humans.

I had bought one in similar situations as yours. I feed my fish mostly frozen foods. I thought it was cuz it was so starved from being at the pet store. It took this long to get a month the turn around. That is definitely not dropsy. You could try a Epsom salt bath, that might bring her some relief.

Sorry crazy week! She is still alive but looks sad and the same. How would I do the salt bath? Do I do the whole tank or just her in a bucket?

Here are some new pics of her. Now my other female platy is hiding. She came out and was darting onto the plants which I have read could be a sign of a parasite. She is hiding whenever I go near but she seems to have a white spot on her anal hole as well. I do not have any male platies but she was pregnant when I got her and I know they can hold sperm. She didn't look pregnant but like I said she is hiding from me which she never does. Could this be a parasite they both have or is the sick platy not a parasite so something different must be going on with the other? Thanks!
