What's wrong with my Giant Danio?

One of my fiant danios from my 75-gallon Tank was gulping for air the whole day today. I caught him in a net (which was way too easy to do, indicating he was sick) and saw that part of his mouth was missing :0 It also looks like one side of his gills is redder than the other. Did he just get hurt or could this be a disease of some sorts? Initially I thought that my danios mouths were white as well but I'm not 100% sure they are. For now I've seperated him to my 10-gallon with a divider in the middle and am keeping him on the side with my betta fish. This is just so that I can monitor what's wrong with him.

How long have you had the danio?
When did you last add new fish to the tank?
What are water parameters?

You should of really just left the danio in the tank... If it's a disease the betta tank may be contaminated now. Best is to leave a sick fish be unless you have a designated hospital/quarantine tank.

There is a template on forum you should fill out to help users figure out whats wrong.

1.) Since August last year
2.) No I haven't, the last fish I bought was back in february.
3.) As of 2 weeks ago- Nitrite:0 Nitrate:10 Ammonia:0 pH: 7.4-7.6

I don't think it's contagious since only my danio is showing symptoms, I mainly separated so that I could monitor his eating and if he's improving. And if it was contagious it's probably in all of my tanks since I use the same equipment between all 3 of them.

In a few words, can you explain the symptoms? The fish was gulping air at the top of the tank and was more confused than normal. When I went to net him to see what was wrong he was slower than normal.

How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all?
It's missing part of it's mouth on it's left side and it's gill on it's left side is also red.

To me, if the other fish are acting okay, something may have attacked it and/or it could have ran into an object. What kind of gourami do you have?

Three-Spot Gourami. I think it might be an injury as well. How do you suggest treating the injury? Since I don't have a quarantine/hospital tank if I were to treat him I'd have to treat my whole 10-Gallon. It has the least amount of fish (a betta and 2 angelfish fry) and would require the least amount of medicine.

I would keep the water clean and possibly add a little salt (although it might not entirely be necessary). The big thing is to monitor and keep it from getting infected until you see the tissue close up or even new growth.

I believe it was Popeye on both eyes. Unfortunately the giant danio died tonight I’m happy that I tried to save him though... I’ll do a water change to get the medicine out of the tank tomorrow.
