I have 2 parrot fish and they started to get these brown burn looking things on them. We tested our water the ammonium levels were good. Took water to petco as well to be tested. We have no idea what they are. Fish are with 6 other African cichids in a 75 gallon tank. The fish were in a 20 gallon living fine before being moved.

What are your water parameters? Do you have a test kit? Is your tank cycled?

    Welcome to FishLore!!

If you could post a picture it might help the members figure out what is going on. Also, what kind of African Cichlids? Aquarist keeps parrots. He might be able to help.

    Good luck!

    Welcome to fishlore!
Most "african" cichlids are mbuna/peacocks and from the rift lakes, and it's not a good idea to have them with the parrots since their "relatives" (parents, I mean the ones that interbreed to form the hybrid) are from CA. And they most likely won't get along.

What is your pH, and ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels? Do you have a test kit?
If you got it tested at a store, they usually use test strips which are inaccurate, so get a liquid test kit.
