I just got the call that the casino is closing my restaraunt tomorrow, because of the snow that's coming. This past weekend, we closed early friday night and were closed saturday. I'm all about snow days, but come on!

ALSO, I'm moving on monday...just realized that I'm going to have to go shovel 3 storms worth of snow before I can start moving stuff over....PLUS having to shovel my current place!

I live at the shore, a block from the beach, and we've had more snow this year - 2010 - than in the 5 years combined that I've lived here prior.

I gotta say, my 1997 ford explorer handles SOOOO much better than my 2005 subaru outback in the snow. I think if I had a regular outback (mine has a turbocharged STI motor), it might be different.

The other big difference is that the subie is AWD, and the explorer is 4WD. They are not the same, even though everyone thinks they are. Just as an example - AWD vehicles cannot get a beach pass to drive on the beach, only 4WD vehicles can. AWD is useless in sand.

Yep it is the El Ninio weather pattern, every 6 - 8 years. Everything thast belongs up north slips down a good bit!!!! We getting 6 - 12 more inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. PA and NJ are getting worse.

LOL! North Jersey got hit today and we're getting hit pretty decently. I spent a year and a half living in Idaho and the snow there makes even this storm look somewhat like a joke. I have to say though, the rep New Jersians get for being tough doesn't really hold up when it comes to snow. A little dusting sends people running to clear out the grocery stores and every school takes a snow day. In Idaho they only close the schools when temps drop waay down. They closed the schools in late January of 07, but that's because the temps dropped to 30 below the night before. If they closed just because of the kind of snow I've seen here in North Jersey, the schools would be closed from October through March.
