Just seen this in the tank and wondered what it is? Some sort of snail I think but has an oval flat shell . Any ideas?

I don't have any experience with saltwater aquariums, but the first thing that comes to mind would be some sort of mollusk.

Does it move around or stay in one place on the rock?

Hard to tell with the angle that it is at, but do you think it might be a limpet of some sort? Limpets typically have a blunt point at the top of their shell with a tiny hole - does this match?

From what I remember reading on them they are considered pests because they are known to sometimes eat corals. It was probably a hitchhiker on one of your rocks. If you don't have coral in your tank you could leave it in because they are mainly algae eaters. My knowledge about limpets is pretty general so I am not sure if this is different for different species, but my guess is if you haven't seen it doing anything harmful yet it is probably okay!

That's a stomatella snail. They're good algae/detritus eaters.
