HI all,
Sorry if this is long, pictures below.
My freshwater angelfish has some sort of disease going on, I was wondering if anyone could point me to what it could be. My first thought was fungus, so I started treatment with Maroxy 2 days ago, but it's only to be used for no more than 5 days and so far there has been no change.
Could this be parasites? But I don't see any worms or anything. Can it be a virus, a bacterial infection? Other 2 fish (gourami and cory) in the tank are fine (so far). It looks like his eye is being eaten away alive and his bottom lip is gone completely already and his whole mouth, as well as some other parts are infected.
I had someone take care of the tank for a month while I was moving, and this is how I got him back. It seems that this been going on for a while, so it's nothing fast-killing, but poor guy must be suffering.
There are no behavioral changes - eating a lot, not hiding, not scratching, friendly, etc. He's just slowly rotting away. I've had him over 3 years, he never had problems before, neither have my tanks.
I've been suggested Lymphocystis and treatment with Melafix, any other suggestions?
Can other treatments be started even though I've given Maroxy?
Any help would be appreciated.
