What’s This Squiggle?

hey- so I got this half moon betta last week— he’s doing fine and seems to have settled in, but since I got him I noticed a squiggle thing on his fin— I thought it was just a weird defect of the fin but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a worm or something.

it might be hook worms

 

I have it seen it really move or squirm- only time it ‘moves’ is when he moves, but only for that reason

It’s a tiny white worm looking thing, and it’s curled.
It doesn’t appear to be a worm to me.

Does it perhaps look like a ray was damaged when he was young and grew outward? Also, do you see any white spots on his fins or body? One has nothing to do with the other. My friend thought he saw something ichy?

No, it really doesn’t appear to be like that.
He has no white spots.

My betta has the same squiggle and is completely healthy, it's most likely just a ray that grew outwards

That’s what I was thinking. I’ve seen it on the ends of rays a lot. That’s why I asked if it looked like a broken ray healed and grew outward. Thank you.
