Whats The Difference Between A Normal Betta And A King Betta?

I saw a king betta in my local fish store and I couldnt resist the huge size and the guy, I was wondering what's the difference between the normal betta fish and the king betta. Also can you tell me if they are more peaceful than normale bettas.

No, they are basically a giant betta (just as aggressive, just a bit larger)

The difference, as I said, is it's size. I've noticed when I had my king, he could withstand higher currents than my other short finned males. But maybe that was just an observation, as I've never really did a test to see if any others were like that.

I'm getting a 37 gallon tank do you think I can put the king betta in a community tank

I think it depends on the betta, and what fish it is with.. my betta seems to like living with some cories in my 20 gallon

That will completely depend on his personality. Many betta fish don't like others at all. Some will tolerate for a while until puberty hits then hate their tankmates. Some tank mates will also decide to go after the betta. The most success I have seen is bettas in a heavily planted tank with a bottom dweller such as cory cats.

^^as stated above I recommended making putting him near other fish (not the ones he's already near) if he intimately flares up, I wouldn't suggest putting him with other fish . Bottom dwellers do best with them.

I don't think the flaring test is very accurate, my betta flared and was very aggressive when he saw other fish in a container in the tank, but as soon as I let the other fish out he was totally fine and ignores them

That's just my two cents.I've always used it and it's yet to fail me. I guess OP could try adding him to a tank as long as there's a backup tank if things go south

I will try it I already have a female halfmoon plakat betta and shes with some mollys, shrimp, and snails I might just put them in the 37 gallon and put the king betta in my ten gallon

If you want tank mates do Harlequin or Lambchop Rasboras, they naturally live with the Betta in the wild. Make sure you have a backup plan if the Betta doesn't like tankmates.

Do you think I can keep an albino rainbow shark witha regular female betta

I wouldn't keep male and female bettas together unless you're breeding. The male can seriously hurt her or they could breed and you'd end up with fry. (Which can sound cool, but as a breeder I endure it's a hassle)

I will have a ten gallon empty just as a back up

No Rainbow Sharks as they will nip fins(Even the short Female Bettas fins) and will out grow a 37 Gallon.

I think I will just put the female in the 37 gallon thanks for the help it means a lot!!

Of course.and yes, most females can be nicer and more lenient about tank mates (though sometimes they can be just as aggressive as males so I'd do the flare test)

Yes, what were you planning? Here's a stock I would do(37 Gallon)-
12 Harlequin Rasboras
12 Lambchop Rasboras
1 Female Betta
16 KuhlI Loaches
Temp.-78'F

You could have a nice community in a 37 gallon IMO. What do you mean by a proper community?

Proper as in top swimmers , middle swimmers, bottom dwellers, and a centerpiece that roams a bit of everywhere. <--my idea g a proper community

Like a good amount of space for the fish I'm going to put a female betta, 6 mollies, 5 ghost shrimp and I was thinking tiger barbs but I don't know about that

My Mollies have bred on their own(before they all died), I saw 1 fry out of all of them and my guess is that the Cichlids ate them.

No Tiger Barbs, they will be to boisterous and will likely nip at the Bettas fins. How about this stock-
1 Female Betta
6 Mollies
14 Harlequin or Lambchop Rasboras
16 KuhlI Loaches or 12 Bronze Cories
Ghost Shrimp
3 Nerite Snails(For Algae)
Temp.-78'F

I would like to know if the female would get stressed because the male goes under the female and chases her around the tank I get a little paranoied

I don't think Tiger barbs can go with a betta

Edit: just saw someone already said that

The onley reson I siggested them is because I saw a video with a male betta with 12 tiger barbs and it looked pretty cool

If you wish to breed, get a ratio of 1male for every 3 females. Have plenty of spaces for hiding as the fry can get eating by their parents . If you're only looking to breed, I'd set up a 10 gallon with either a spawning mop, guppy grass (a live plant) or any other plant that has multiple small branching off stems the fry can hide in.

They might have been Five Banded Barbs, they look like Tiger Barbs but are generally more peaceful.

Yes Cherry Barbs would work, you could do 10-14 instead of the Rasboras.

You edit the picture so it is square, then you go to upload photos in the picture section and then your picture is on(best way I could explain it).
