What's the best site to buy plants?

I'm very new to plants, and am going to my LFS to see if they have Lace plants and Java Fern (maybe Anubias, also). I was wondering - If my LFS does not have these plants, what is the best website to buy these type of plants from?

Thanks in advance! ;D

the Swap Meet at is the only place I will get plants from for the rest of my natural life  ;D.  I just got some plants from and they are so beautiful and so far better than anything I have seen elsewhere, I won't even look elsewhere. He swaps/sells off of the Swap Meet on the PlantGeek site. (He is also a member of our forum and has posted on the Plants thread)

Thanks Rose! Do the plants from this site, often arrive quickly? and in good condition? Are the prices reasonable (I wouldn't know because of lack of experience)

Thanks!

I only got the two from off-ice and he is the only vendor I have dealt with. He lives in a neighboring state so it only took a matter of 2-3 days transit time after I paid him. I thought the price was extreemly reasonable. Much cheaper than anything I have seen on eBay and much better condition. The trick of dealing with someone through the mail is to try to get someone who can deal with everything you want and order it all at the same time so postage doesn't eat up your budget. It doesn't cost much more to ship 5 plants than 2 or so. You can always ask if they will do combined shipping. If someone won't do combined shipping, you should ask why. If they don't have a very valid reason, like the two plants will duke it out in the box ( ;D) then I wouldn't do business with them. They could explain why it would be better or cheaper to do a separate ship, but make them tell you why. Most will just automatically ship your items together, but ask anyone you don't know if they discount ship for multiple items. A friend of mine bought 3 plants on eBay and they came from the same vendor and the same day and time. They were shipped in the same box. He charged $5.99 to ship one plant so he just x3'd it and charged her $17.97 for shipping. The plants only cost $12.00. She should have gone elsewhere. This is the reason I suggested the site I did. I have faith in them and I have had experience and know this is not the way business is done. Check with off-ice. He told me he had over a thousand species and will probably be able to help you.

Just for a sneak peek at the plant geek information available, try this:

It really can help you choose the right plants for your tank and tell you about others you haven't even thought about.

I was just on the PlantGeek website, and that swap area you mentioned, didn't have anything in it? Do I have to contact Ice personally? I thought I would be more like browsing though plants and "adding to the cart" type thing, but it wasn't.. ???

You can also post what you want there in the classified section and others may reply letting you know they have those items and how much.

I think it said that they replaced the classifieds with the "swap"

We did away with the classifieds a week or two ago. The members wanted the swap meet back, so we put it back.

I believe I still have a post in there from last week, and I know I will be trimming this weekend and will probably put up another one. Since not all of what I trim ends up posted (I take a lot to a couple LFS's in town and to our club) you can always feel free to pm me and let me know what you are looking for or ask what I will be trimming.

I currently keep about 100 different species of plants, from low light easy to care for to high light and hard.

I will agree with Isabella. Vic (owner of aquariumgarden) is a top notch guy and you will not be sorry if you buy from him. He always has nice plants.
