Whats happening to my S.Repens

tuggythetugboat

Half of my TC S.Repens have died and these have been surviving and thriving since I added CO2. Just recently noticed the plants are curling and partially turning brown in some spots.
Is this diatoms? I tried removing it to no avail. I've been dosing Seachem Flourish 2 times a week and I have Tropica Specialised Nutrition coming today. What should I do?

Are they new? It could just be melting

I've already had 3 melt and they looked different than this. They have been in for about 4-5 weeks now.

I have CO2 aswell so melting is much less common

Interesting. I'm not sure what would cause that exactly. In terrestrial plants at least, sometimes viruses or deficiencies can cause leaf curling. Some chemicals and herbicides can deform leaves too.

Melting due to being new, it seems.

Could be a lack of water flow, not getting enough co2 to the bottom layer part of the tank. This is why most plants grow up towards the sun and surface for better gas exchange, which in turn boosts the plant further.

I would leave them be; unless more leaves start going, then I would uproot and float, personally. You all good with micro/macros?

I had some other SRepens that melted and it occurred much faster than this. So it must be something small. Any suggestions on how how increase water flow? I have an Aquaclear 20 on my 7 Gal. And the CO2 looks like it gets dispursed quite well and Ive seen a massive amount of new growth over the week I've had co2. It might have to do with micros and macros. I just got Tropica Specialised so I'll have to try that. I heard it's much better than Flourish.

Specialised is missing phosphate and nitrogen and potassium I believe? You need the green one that has all of them but yeah! I’m sure they will be fine then just give them time

The Tropica Specialized actually the green one. I think the Tropica Plant Growth is the brown that is lacking nitrogen and Potassium. I'll believe I should give 2 doses per week. Thanks for the info btw!
