What's Growing On My Java Fern Leaf?

I make sure to either zip tie my Java ferns or just shove them somewhere in the tank so they don't float away but keeping the root exposed. Over the last couple days I noticed one of my older Java ferns started growing a little hair on the end of its Leaf, wondering what this is? None of my other job of ferns have this, at least to this degree.

And my final question is do I just let it be? Is the plant dying? Do I add an aquarium salt to remove the algae?

 

No, no. Leave it be! Congratulations you are now growing baby Java Ferns! What you’re looking at is new roots and new leaves forming. If you leave them on the plant they will continue to grow without hurting the main plant. Once you’re happy with their size you can slide them off your leaf and replant. They grow slowly so they won’t overrun your tank but now you get free Java Fern

Oh wow, awesome! I wasn't sure if they branch off other leafs or off the root, one of my ferns in one of my Betta's tanks is growing a new leaf from the root so I wasn't sure if this was good or bad. Awesome news!

Here's a pic of my betta's java fern sprouting a new leaf. Looks like my lil dude already took a bite out of it. Sorry I'm new to fishkeeping and real plants.
