What's a rescue betta?

It has been driving me CRAZY everyone is always talking about their rescue betta... What is a rescue betta? I am going to die it is driving me insanine! I'm soon gonna think my Fry are French Fries and end up eating them if I don't get this figured out!

 

Generally, a betta that is taken or bought from someone who isn't caring for it properly/period. for instance, the one I had used to belong to my sister-in-law. She was tired of caring for it, and told me if I didn't take she would flush it down the toilet. Ergo, I took it and "rescued" it from the toilet. However, others have found bettas with "free" signs, that would soon be dead if no-one took them, thus "rescued" from... well.. being abandoned, I guess.

No, that's a pity perchas. Just about every one on here is guilty of that, even me lol

Another example of a rescue is going to a chain pet store, such as PetCo or PetSmart, and getting a Betta for free because its on its last leg, and won't last much longer. A lot of times, all they need is a bit of clean water.

Okay, I was wondering if they just bought them from the store... that clears it up a bit! Now my guppy and swordtail fry can grow up without me eating them...

 

Any time a life is saved I consider it a rescue, no matter how the animal is acquired.
