What would you do with a 2.5 rectangular tank?

The title basically has it all.
I've got 3 (yes you read it right) 3 empty 2.5's right now and not a clue what to do with any of them...
So what would you guys do?

I would set up a shrimp tank or snails... or maybe a small colony of lesser killifish or smaller killifish. Or I would fill one with water, put it next to a window with a lot of sunlight and see what grows.

I use my 2.5 gallon tank to take pics of my goldies. Although, I may have to switch to a larger one soon. Maybe keep one set up and cycled to use as a quarantine tank?

you could plant it and have nothing living in it? it could be like an underwater vivarium

or you could make it a pico reef tank which is really hard though

I second the shrimp vote. It could also become a home for an ADF. Or use it to breed brine shrimp to feed your fish as treats. (The stany-by quarantine tank is probably more practical, though.) For the short-term, you could always pick up some triops eggs and watch them grow, but they only love for ~70 days, so you'll be back to square 1. Then again, you might be able to get them to breed, then dry out the tank enough for it to become viable, and hatch the eggs, so that there's an endless little cycle going on.

I like the ADF and shrimp ideas. Since you have three one could have one of each plus a quaratine tank.

I actually can't prove that "they only love for ~70 days," but that's certainly as long as the LIVE.

Sorry. I'm amused by my own type-os. I should have just edited the original post, but then no one else would have the chance to have a giggle over my hasty typing.

A shrimp tank would be cool. Cherry shrimp are quite easy to breed and who knows, maybe you could make a little extra cash to fund your hobby!

If you're in for a real challenge, I also like Tony's suggestion for a pico reef. It's not the way I'd recommend getting into SW, but it's the way I got into it. A zoanthid and mushroom tank would be easy to do and there are lots of really colorful varieties. Finish up the stocking with a few snails and a shrimp (peppermint, cleaner, etc) and it would be a cool little tank. This, of course, would be your most expensive option. LOL

I've been wanting to do a planted tank with shrimp... so that is what I'd do. If it were a little bigger I would suggest threadfin rainbows... they are about an inch long... with hardly any bioload... but they are a shoaling fish and I don't think you could have enough of them in a 2.5 to keep them happy.

I also like the idea of the dwarf frog. I think that would be a lot of fun.

Then you could use the third as a Q tank.

The killifish idea is interesting too... I have golden wonder killiest(they would be much too big) but I've seen the small varieties kept in small tanks. I think that I'd want to keep them in a bigger tank... but it might work.
