What types of snails do you keep?

I am wondering what types of snails are most common among members. I keep Malaysian trumpet snails (Melanoides tuberculata), apple snails (Pomacea diffusa), Freshwater limpets (ferrissia fragilis), Mini ramshorn snails (Gyraulus chinensis), bladder snails (physella acuta), Zebra nerite snails (neritina natalensis), Tiger nerite snails (vittina semiconica), Japanese trapdoor snails (Cipangopaludina japonica), Spike tail trumpet snails (mieniplotia scabra), Yellow rabbit snails (tylomelania gemmifera), great pond snails (Lymnaea stagnalis jugularis), pond snails (radix peregra), ramshorn snails (planorbella duryi). I'm also wondering what your favourite types are. (Please comment that if you want. The poll is for what types you keep.) In my opinion the rabbit snails are the most interesting but spike tail trumpet snails are the best looking. They look like conch snails! I didn't include them in the poll though because they are rarely available and I've only seen them mentioned on this forum a few times.

Each of my betta tanks have nerite snails. Have a mystery snail in my wife's platy tank. It would be the star there if we didnt keep finding more fry

I have 2 Nerite snails. I never had much luck with Nerites until these two. They're wonderful! They cleared up my brown algae issues in just days. One zooms around all day, the other only comes out at night - out of the tank! I just found him again today about 2 feet from the tank on the carpet. I also have 3 Mystery Snails, 2 gold and one blue. I just lost my favorite snail, RIP Mystery Morty. She was the coolest snail I ever owned. She had 200 babies, so I still have about 30 of her offspring and will be keeping a few. Love my snails!!

I have 2 very small snails that doubled in size in 1.5 years. they do have a flat door that protects them, but no idea the name. They hide for days/weeks in substrate. No idea name. From petsmart * oh I think they're brown racer nerites!

assassin snails - i purchased 5, 2 died as babies after arrival. 3 alive as a month ago. but I only see 1 commonly.

tons of ramshorns - pink, blue, grey, leopard
5 male, 7 female mystery snail. most are brown striped

1 mystery snail girl took a header & had exposed area of soft body.
She healed for 2 months in a 1 gallon tank that I did daily water changes on. she's now back in 38 gallon tank.

Can you post a pic? Nerites don't hide in the substrate so it can't be them. The only kinds I know of that you can buy that burrow are Malaysian trumpet snails (most likely because they are most common), spike tail trumpet snails (very unlikely because these are very difficult to find for sale), assassin snails.

Purposefully keep? Haha. With regards to the spike tails, they've bee showing up a lot recently on aquabid and ebay from one seller. I'm in the states though so thst might make a difference, at least for eBay.

I kept everything on that list except rabbits and nerites. Bladder, ramshorn and MTS not intentionally. Also, spixi, assassins (though not technically a snail) and a few other things that I found outside. I had the most difficult time with spixis, I think they were outcompeted by mystery snails that ate everything within their reach.

I want to try rabbits in an inverts tank with shrimp and such.

Cool! I love the horned pagoda snails. How long have you had them? I have read that they come from fast flowing, highly oxygenated water so they don't live for more than a few months in captivity. That and them not being available here are why I don't have them. They are super cool though!

I’ve had mine for probably 3 months now? Maybe more. He’s doing pretty good! I rarely see him, he’s always burrowed in the sand. I read a lot on them being difficult to care for and sensitive, but mine has dealt with quite a bit and is still doing good.

My 44g tall pentagon is still cycling. But I plan to have 1 mystery snail, 1 Japanese Trapdoor, and 1 zebra or horned nerite.

There are two Zebra and two Tiger Nerites in my 55gl, and an unknown number of bladder snails. I will try my luck and plan a trip to the Lfs today to get an assassin snail, hopefully helping me with bladder snail population control.

I would really like to get some Tiger or Red Racer Nerites. All we usually get at my lfs are Zebra and Horned. The Horned are so cute and smaller than the others!

I got tigers in all my betta tanks. My daughter calls them ladybugs.

They do look like Ladybugs, thats pretty accurate!
Finally had one today come out of its hiding spot so she was pretty excited for that. "Ooooh, it's another ladybug!"

Marisa cornuarietis or the Giant Columbia Ramshorns (not related to normal ramshorns). They are in my QT tank and keep in cycled, they aren't allowed in my main tank because they decimate plants.
