I was thinking of getting some snails and was wondering what type of plants are good for them. And I was wondering if it matters if the substrate is gravel or sand. And if I got a few difforent kind (not assassin snails) woudl they get along. I would assume but im not sure. Lastly I hear alot of snails getting into the filter. Should I get a sponge to cover the Intake of the filter so they wont ger stuck.

Plants dont really matter, i have ramshorns and they usually just eat any junk off the glass, extra fish food, veggies ect. Although recently they've developed a taste for my banana plant. I think the leaves were dying anyways but other than that they leave the plants alone. Theyll eat any algae on them though.
