What type of wood would be best for a ball python?

betta06

I wanted to put some sticks in my ball pythons enclosure and was wondering what would be safe? we mostly have pine and cedar here and I heard that they can be toxic. is this true? also I am guessing for rocks they should all be safe as long as I don't pick super sharp ones and I wash them first.

thanks!

I wouldn't put anything that can be sappy myself. About anything else would probably work OK. Assuming you want a piece or two big enough it can lay on/wrap around?

okay thanks! what do you think about maple? also I know most ball pythons don't like to climb but in the evenings she loves to explore a lot so I think she will enjoy them and if not they will give some more ground cover and she will like that.

Depends on the maple i guess. My maple tree isn't sappy, but i also don't know what kind it is.
