What to feed freshwater muscle clam. Help

    Not sure where to post, so Ken please move accordingly.
    What should I feed a freshwater muscle/clam? Picked up today at the lake and want to see if can keep in aquarium or release back to lake.

    They are filter feeders, so they will need micro foods to be dosed in the water. If the tank is very well established, and sufficiently sized, there might be enough naturally occurring food to sustain it. But chances are you'll have to feed it somehow.

    Thanks. I just read up on feeding mussles. Ken's food has a product for them. There are homemade recipes also. I might keep in it's own tank w/ the native weeds I gathered. Good beach day for free aquatics.
