What to feed Cory cats

Originally I came here because my betta kept eating the algae wafers that I fed my Cory cats, but after reading some threads I found out that Cory cats shouldn’t have algae wafers as their main diet at all. They’ve been eating only algae wafers for the past month and now I’m pretty worried for their health.
I’m wondering what a complete diet for corys would be, and if I need to go buy some new food for them. The first thing that comes up on google when I ask what corys should be eating is algae wafers and steamed veggies, but they’re scavengers/carnivores aren’t they?
I live in the middle of nowhere so i’d have to order the new food off amazon and I need to know what to feed them in the mean time. I have Hikari sinking carnivore pellets, dried blood worms and brine shrimp, would any of those work? Or do those have too much protein? The brine shrimp and blood worms don’t sink even after soaking them in water for 24 hours, so I don’t think I would be able to give them to the corys. And I have tried giving them the sinking carnivore pellets but they swish them around in their moth and then shoot them out of their gills and don’t end up eating any, so I don’t know what to do.

Any and all of those would be fine. Corydoras are omnivores so they eat both meat and veggies. So algae wafers aren't a vomplete diet for them but they are part of their diet. The sinking carnivore pellet would likely have everything else needed to give them what they need in addition to the wafers if you can get the bloodworms or brine shrimp to sink. If they are reluctant eaters they simply may not like the taste, or are waiting for the food to soften before eating.

Look up Xtreme nano pellets. Those are a good Diet for corydoras. New Life Spectrum also makes some good options. If you want to be creative and have fun with it, get Repashy community or Repashy Soilent Green and when you make the food, paint it onto rocks or other decorations you can put in the tank for them to eat the food off of.

Corys will eat algae wafers but this should only be a very small part of their diet. I have seen corys eat food and it come out of their gills many times before, but I don't think they are doing it on purpose. Although carnivore pellets are meant for fish that eat other living things like fish fry, so the pellets may not be suited to an almost full time scavenger like a cory. Frozen blood worms will sink to the bottom and corys love them, in fact, their natural diet in the wild includes small invertebrates, so other they will likely eat other foods similar to bloodworms as long as it sinks. There are also foods made specifically for bottom feeders. Really corys will thrive on any food as long as it sinks and isn't too meaty or leafy.

I second Xtreme, New Life Spectrum and Repashy (mine seem to like the Grub pie formula.) I pour it into an ice cube tray that makes tiny half-round balls, but you can pour it into anything (plate, dish) and cut it into cubes or strips. Doesn't have to be bite-sized, they'll be able to eat from a cube or strip.

Mine also like the Aqueon shrimp pellets.

Whenever you're in town you can pick up some frozen bloodworms for a treat, most of the chain pet stores carry them. Can also order from places like LiveAquaria, but of course shipping will be fairly high. Most corys really love them, even frequently induces spawning with mine.

if you feed them tetra Cory wafers they work and that’s all you need it combines veg and protein and they last a while

Mine eat flake food that sinks to the bottom, frozen blood worms, shrimp and even beef heart that I feed my discus.
Be careful with feeding beefheart to Corys.
There is a kind of protein in it that they can't digest properly. Often seen issues with C.sterbai cause of that.

On topic : variation is the keyword. 95% "carnivorious"

I'm still cycling my tank so am NOT an expert! But I plan to add corys and am planning to get this one. It has good reviews from other cory owners. Hikari Sinking Wafers Bottom Feeders Fish Food, 3.88-oz pouch - Chewy.com
