What to do with this giant ramshorn snail

Hello, today I was cleaning my uncles fish tank and came across this giant ramshorn snail. At first glance I thought it was dead but after taking it out and doing a smell test it turned out he was still alive. The poor snail has a very calcium poor shell and its so bad that chucks of its shell where probably falling off, there’s a huge hole in his shell and the poor snail can‘t walk. He’s kinda stuck in the hole whenever he tries to get out of his shell. I offered to take him home to try and save him but I don’t really know what I should do right now. Should I remove the the piece before the shell because the snail can’t crawl or do anything. Would giving him a calcium rich diet save his shell? I give my own snails blanched cucumber and snello and their shells look good. Kind regards Mups.

I honestly do not know.
My last biggie, people poked fun at me for planning to stick floating foam in the center of his shell because its weight was draggin him an inch out of his shell.
He settled the matter befoe I could use crazy glue and foam by dying...
He was as big as a quarter.

Oh I’m sorry for your loss right now I’m acclimating the snail to my aquarium and after that I hope I can maybe hand feed him something.

You could get a cuttle bone or a snail calcium block in your tank and stick him on that... he needs calcium so either way.... poor thing!

Do you have plants? Giant ramshorns will decimate them. They are even used to control invasive plants in the wild.
Scientific name: Marisa cornuarietis

Yes, I have a lot of plants in my aquarium. Would it be a good idea to put him in the breeder net with baby mystery snails?

Oh good idea! I already have some cuttlebone in my aquarium but I can get some more and put him on it.

I dont know if it is safe or not to put him with baby mystery snails. Someone else would have to answer that.
